Mens en Relatie Lead System — Replacing early-2000s software for a Dutch matchmaking practice
Founded 40 years ago and running a network of 33 matchmakers across the Netherlands, Mens en Relatie is a bespoke Dutch matchmaking practice with a 75% success rate and 65,000 matches confirmed. The Mens en Relatie Lead System, a Zoho CRM migration paired with a unified n8n intake layer, serves as the modern replacement for the custom software the business had been running since the early 2000s — moving a lead from form submission to the assigned matchmaker's phone in under two minutes, down from over two hours. As Lead Product Designer and Automation Architect, I was invited onto the project by the CEO as a freelance consultant, working from their office every Friday for six months. Key responsibilities included the mapping of the entire practice through CEO workshops synthesised as a Business Process Map in Lucidchart (BPMN 2.0), the migration from legacy custom software to Zoho CRM, the design and build of ten automated n8n workflows generated with Claude Code driving the n8n MCP server, the design of the core lead-intake engine that deduplicates at capture, screens every submission against the blacklist, and assigns leads to the right matchmaker by postcode, and the setup of Zoho's mobile app so matchmakers receive push notifications the moment a lead arrives.
