BMS — Basiq Management System — A Prototype Argument for One Centralised System
Based in the Netherlands and running a fleet of contractors that clean commercial vehicles on site, the client is a Dutch commercial vehicle cleaning operator whose team was juggling four separate systems — each asking for the same login and the same client details over again. BMS, the Basiq Management System, is a centralised prototype with a client and contractor portal that serves as the argument for one system instead of four: one place to sign in, one client record, and one live view of the job in progress. As UX/UI Designer, then Business Analyst, I joined the project through Intime Tech two years into a build that was already well under way, and it became clear the roadmap was not going to deliver what the client had originally asked for. Key responsibilities included the change of hats from UX/UI to business analysis mid-project, the on-site workshops with the people doing the work, the end-to-end mapping of the operation as a business analyst, the design and prototype of the missing centralised half of the product spanning both the client and contractor portals, and the implementation of the interactive prototype in React with Claude Code, deployed on Vercel for the client to walk through directly.
